While attending a marriage seminar on communication,
Jim and his wife listened to the instructor declare:
"It is essential that husbands and wives know the
things that are important to each other."

  He addressed the men:
"For instance, gentlemen, can you name your wife's
  favorite flower?"

Jim  leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and
  whispered, "Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"

The rest of the story is not pleasant.
  The end.

We have no right to ask when sorrow comes,
"Why did this happen to me?"
unless we ask the same question for every

Golden Oldie
The young specialist in English Lit, ...lectured
me severely on the fact that in every century people
have thought they understood the Universe at last,
and in every century they were proved to be wrong.
It follows that the one thing we can say about
our modern "knowledge" is that it is wrong.

... My answer to him was, "... when people thought
the Earth was flat, they were wrong. When people
thought the Earth was spherical they were wrong.
But if you think that thinking the Earth is spherical
is just as wrong as thinking the Earth is flat, then
your view is wronger than both of them put together."

One of the annoying things about believing
in free will and individual responsibility
is the difficulty of finding somebody to
blame your problems on. And when you do find
somebody, it's remarkable how often his
picture turns up on your driver's license.

All of our social problems arise out
of doing the wrong thing righter.
The more efficient you are at doing
the wrong thing, the wronger you become.
It is much better to do the right thing
wronger than the wrong thing righter!
If you do the right thing wrong
and correct it, you get better!"
